Bio

Hi Everyone! My name is Edith Ramirez and I have served as the Guardian Scholars Program Coordinator since November 2017. I grew up in Snelling, CA a tiny town located near our campus. Like many of the scholars here at UCM, I am a first-generation college student from a working-class immigrant family. I attended California State University, Stanislaus where I earned my Bachelor’s in Sociology and I then went on to get my master's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. I enjoy binge watching shows on Netflix, listening to Banda, and just walking around Target! My favorite thing about working with the program is getting to know all the extraordinary scholars! If you have any questions or would like to meet with me, please feel free to send me an email at eramirez226@ucmerced.edu
